Display

The iPhone 17 has a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED all-screen display, with a resolution of 2622 × 1206 pixels (~460 ppi). The display uses ProMotion technology with an adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz, which makes scrolling, animations and transitions very smooth.
It supports Always-On display, HDR, True Tone, and Wide color (P3) for vivid and accurate colors. Brightness is very high: typical max around 1000 nits, with HDR peak ~1600 nits, and outdoor peak ~3000 nits, so it remains usable even under bright sunlight.
The screen is protected by a durable Ceramic Shield 2 front glass, and the phone is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance (submersion up to 6 meters for 30 minutes).

Camera

On the back, the iPhone 17 uses a dual-camera system with main and ultra-wide sensors. The main camera has a 48 MP sensor, and the second lens is also designed for wide/ultra-wide capture. Photography benefits from Apple’s computational photography stack — including advanced HDR, deep-fusion processing, improved color accuracy, and image stabilization — giving good results in varied lighting conditions. On the front is a new 18 MP “Center Stage” camera with autofocus (Focus Pixels), f/1.9 aperture, optimized for selfies and video calls. The front system supports high-quality video recording including stable 4K and cinematic features, and offers improved portrait, low-light and videography performance.

Performance

The iPhone 17 is powered by Apple’s latest A19 chipset (or equivalent new silicon for 2025), delivering fast CPU and GPU performance suitable for heavy apps, gaming, multitasking, and modern workloads. Thanks to the efficient hardware and optimized software, the device offers smooth and responsive performance across daily use, media consumption, photography, and AI-powered features.

Operating System

The phone runs the latest version of iOS (as of launch in 2025). The OS is optimized for the new hardware and display, offering advanced iPhone features, security, and support for future updates.

Connectivity

iPhone 17 supports 5G (sub-6 GHz, 4x4 MIMO) and Gigabit LTE for fast cellular data. It includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Apple’s new networking chips for improved wireless performance. It has a USB-C connector (replacing Lightning), which supports charging and data transfer. Wireless charging via MagSafe and Qi2 (up to 25 W) is also supported, along with reverse wireless charging functionality.

The iPhone 17 is offered in 256 GB and 512 GB internal storage variants. As with all iPhones, there is no external memory expansion (no microSD slot), so you must choose storage capacity according to your needs.

The device features stereo speakers, delivering high-quality audio for media, calls, and video playback. It supports Spatial Audio and Dolby-class sound formats, giving a rich, immersive listening experience. Microphones support noise reduction and spatial audio recording, useful for video, calls, and voice input.
