Camera

The Pixel 4 sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12.2 MP main sensor (f/1.7, Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS) and a 16 MP telephoto lens (f/2.4, 2x optical zoom, OIS). The combination allows for excellent image quality, dynamic range, and night photography using Google’s Night Sight mode. The phone excels in portrait photography, offering DSLR-like depth effects. The 8 MP front-facing camera, paired with a 3D depth sensor, delivers sharp selfies and supports secure face unlock. Google's computational photography further enhances image processing for top-tier results.

Performance

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and Adreno 640 GPU, the Pixel 4 handles multitasking, gaming, and app usage with ease. It comes with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, providing smooth performance across the board. Though not the absolute fastest chip of its time, the Pixel 4 offers consistent and fluid operation thanks to software optimization.

Operating System

The Pixel 4 launched with Android 10 and is part of Google’s flagship series, ensuring timely updates and a clean, bloat-free Android experience. It has since received upgrades up to Android 13 (depending on region and support timeline). The software includes exclusive features like Google Assistant voice control, Recorder with real-time transcription, and Motion Sense using radar-based gestures.

Connectivity

The device supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1 for fast data transfers. It also includes GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo for precise location tracking. Unfortunately, it does not support 5G or expandable storage via microSD.

Sound & Speaker

Google Pixel 4 features stereo speakers—one front-firing and one bottom-firing—providing clear and loud audio output. Although it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, the sound experience is still strong, with support for 24-bit audio, aptX HD, and USB-C audio. Audio quality is crisp with minimal distortion even at higher volumes.

Storage

The Pixel 4 comes with 64 GB or 128 GB of internal UFS 2.1 storage, depending on the model. While the storage is fast and reliable, it does not support microSD expansion, which may be a limitation for users who need more space for media and apps.
